Moondance Manor Gardens are extensively planted with abundant flower beds, a wealth of native and exotic mature trees, a large ornamental pond with its own island and Pekin ducks, many open lawn areas, substantial formal hedging and all set on over a hectare bordering the Waikato River.

In 2008, Moondance Manor Gardens were assessed by the New Zealand Garden Trust as a Garden of regional significance. This is a coveted award requiring a high standard of presentation and variety.

The garden beds of Moondance Manor Gardens present an array of perennials such as hellebores, fox gloves, primrose, iris, hyacinths, pompom and lilies along with established trees, roses, camellias, magnolias, hydrangeas, rhododendrons, wisteria and much much more.

Each season offers a new and exciting display from an abundance of spring flowers and blossom trees, to summer with its roses and variety of perennials, to autumnal romantic colours and winter greens.

As you make your journey of discovery take time to appreciate the multitude of beautiful vistas presented on every turn or discover a contemplative moment in one of the many secluded spots or amble down to the Waikato River and its woodland garden.

The jewel in the crown is of course the elegant two story Edwardian Manor house which complements the grandeur of the garden and from which the terraced lawns can be fully appreciated.

Refreshments and light meals are available on request and may be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the garden and lawns.

Moondance Manor Gardens are open from September to April,
